ICASEPS’ Coffee Morning “Minister of Agriculture Regulation No. 50/2012 on Guideline for the Development of Agricultural Region“
As it is scheduled as a series of regular activities, ICASEPS conducted a discussion in “coffee morning” on Friday, 11 April 2014. The topic of discussion was related to the development of agricultural region presented by Dr. Bambang Irawan. The participants were internally limited namely the researchers of ICASEPS.
Rice Import Policy: Understanding the Case of Rice Import from Viet Nam
On 10 April 2014, the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Research and Development (AARD) conducted a routine seminar in the headquarters office (Jalan Ragunan 29, Jakarta). The topic of the seminar was “Rice Import Policy: Understanding the Case of Rice Import from Viet Nam” presented by Dr. Erwidodo from the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Socio Economic and Policy Studies (ICASEPS). The participants were researchers of AARD and officers from other related institutions.
Implication of Urbanization on the Future of Food Self-Reliance and Security
Up to now, food self-reliance and food security have been trending topics. Indonesian Center for Agriculture Socio-Economic and Policy Study (ICASEPS) had a chance to discuss these topics in its Seminar on Agricultural and Rural Development held on Wednesday, 2 April 2014, at the office of ICASEPS, Jl. A. Yani 70 Bogor. The seminar was attended by ICASEPS’ researchers and some participants from other institutions. In this occasion, Dr. Sumaryanto presented his paper entitled “Implication of Urbanization on the Future of Food Self-Reliance and Security” with Dr. Bambang Sayaka as the moderator.
ICASEPS Coffee Morning: “Implication of Biodiesel Mandatory Policy on Indonesian CPO Export”
Indonesian palm oil supplied more than 30 percent of the world plant oil consumption. Indonesia produced around 50 percent of the world palm oil production in 2013. Therefore, Indonesian palm oil market would bring significant impacts on CPO price and export in the world market. In our national economy, the contribution of palm oil to Indonesian exports amounted to US$ 21 billion (in 2012), and was able to give a positive effect on the cumulative revenue from the export tax as much as IDR 80 trillion.
Food Security and Special Safeguard Mechanism Analysis for Main Commodities in the Implementation of WTO Agreement
National food security would continue being the concern of the Government in national development. Many efforts have done by the Government, including the legislation of Food Law, UU No 18/2012. The substance of the newly released Food Law was well discussed in Seminar of Agricultural and Rural Development on 25 April 2013, conducted by ICASEPS, at Seminar Room, Building A 4th floor, Jl. Yani No. 70 Bogor presenting Dr Hermanto, former secretary of Agency of Food Security during 2005 - February 2012. On that seminar, Dr Hermanto presented a paper titling “Undang-undang (Law) No No 18/2012 about Food and The Prospect of National Food Security “. Dr Hermanto discussed structure of chapters and important articles of that law elaborating his wide experience of the essential aspect of the Food Law.
Regulations of WTO, State Trading Enterprises, and Food Price Stabilization Program
Indonesian Center for Agricultural Socio Economic and Policy Studies (ICASEPS) has conducted a Seminar of Agricultural and Rural Development on 10 April 2013, at Seminar Room of ICASEPS, Building A 4th floor, Jl. Yani No. 70 Bogor. The speaker, Dr. Erwidodo, presented a paper with title was “The Regulation of WTO, State Trading Enterprises, and Food Price Stabilization Program”. The seminar aimed to sharpen and to seek input and suggestion for the readiness of Indonesia to face single market of ASEAN in 2015.
